Linwood H. Randall was born on August 15, 1934 here in Old Town, Maine. Linwood lived a full, rich life, and was treasured by his family and friends.
Graduating from Old Town High in 1952, Linwood participated in football, baseball and track. Lin married his beloved wife of nearly 67 years, Josephine Taylor on September 25, 1954. Together they raised seven children: Mark, Tony, Judy, Gail, Paul, Paulette and Jo-Lynn.
Lin worked several jobs in the area, including the Pie Plate factory in Old Town before being hired as one of the first regional drivers for UPS, earning several distinguished driving awards. Lin was known for his compassion and care to the community, which was evident during his time with UPS and after retirement while working for Birmingham Funeral Home.
Lin was a talented man in numerous areas. Earning his private pilot’s license, he built his own airplane and shared his passion for flying with a local airplane building club. Lin spent countless hours in his workshop, crafting intricate wooden vehicles and doll houses, which he was happy to hand-off to friends and family.
Lin was born to Freda Hutchinson Randall, had four brothers-Howard Randall, Harry Sanborn, Carleton Sanborn and Chellis Sanborn. Along with his seven children, Linwood was proud of his seventeen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
Linwood’s funeral took place on Friday, August 6th, 2021 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Old Town.
