Bamy Lyn Emerson
Someday I'll wish upon a star And wake up where the clouds are far behind me Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me
Bamy Lyn Emerson, age 64, of Reynoldsburg and formerly of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Mount Carmel Grove City Hospital. She was born May 30, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest and Jean (Di Nucci) Gary.
Bamy will be deeply missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Melissa Emerson; two grandsons, Jacob and Brooks; her sister, Deanne (John) Byron; brother Tim (Shirley) Gary and niece Cierra Bryon.
How do you boil down the impact a woman had on so many? A single mother, Bamy raised Mark with devotion and unconditional love. She nurtured his love of sports and supported his pursuit of a career in which Mark thrives. Bamy was passionate about her grandsons, especially when she was able to babysit Jacob. Bamy loved being a grandmother and wasn’t shy about telling everyone or pulling out a picture to show off grandson Jacob.
Her inviting personality made Bamy a person everyone wanted to be friends with. Bamy cared so deeply for her friends and co-workers they became like family to her. And Bamy became family to them. She retired as a consumer loan manager with Huntington National Bank after 35 years.
If she wasn’t working, you could find Bamy in the yard planting flowers, crafting, taking her dog Sadee for a walk or enjoying a cup of coffee. She loved spending time with her many circles of friends.
Bamy was a 1975 graduate of Whitehall-Yearling High School and a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
