In Loving Memory of Andrew MacDermott June 6, 1979 – March 31, 2023 Andrew MacDermott was born in Dublin, Ireland, to Vivianne and Ciarán, and grew up alongside his older brother, Michael. His early years were spent in Finglas before the family settled in Leixlip, County Kildare. A proud “True Blue” Dublin supporter, Andrew’s heart beat in rhythm with the roar of the Hill. He lived and breathed GAA—not just as a player, but as a coach, treasurer, mentor, and lifelong supporter. His dedication to his club and community was tireless, and his love for the game was only matched by his love for the people around him. Andrew had a rare, magnetic spirit. He was the kind of friend everyone hopes to have: generous, dependable, and completely present. No ask was ever too big or too small. Whether you needed a lift, a laugh, or someone just to stand beside you—Andrew was there, always. At 17, he met the love of his life at Coláiste Ciarán. Ten years later, they married, building a life grounded in friendship, joy, and unwavering love. Together, they raised two incredible daughters, Sonas and Faela—his pride, his heart, his everything. Andrew adored his girls. Every decision he made, every ounce of effort he gave, was for them. That love remains, fierce and infinite. He also had a deep love of music, especially the high-energy pulse of The Prodigy. It matched his intensity and drive—he was always in motion, always living life at full tilt. “Like the music he loved—loud, bold, and unforgettable—Andrew charged through life with unstoppable energy and unshakable heart.” This page is a tribute to a man who gave so much of himself—to his family, his friends, his passions, and his community. He is missed beyond words, but never beyond love.
