Life story

Patrick Matthew Prindiville, known as “Pat, Paddy, Daddy” was a beloved and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, godfather, friend, and colleague to so many. The youngest of six, Patrick brightened the world on November 23, 1981, in St. Louis, Missouri. It is with profound sadness yet rooted in his faith that Patrick met our Lord on Friday, January 13, 2023, while sleeping at his home in Manchester, Missouri. He was forty-one. “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

Patrick graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Holding responsible positions in Human Resources within Healthcare, Composting and most recently at BreakThru Beverage-Missouri, he thrived with strong, positive leaders and colleagues. Patrick loved nothing more than spending time with his wife Nikki and being a Daddy to Caroline, age 7. He was always creating with the next fun adventure. Tradition in the Catholic faith was especially important to Patrick for Caroline’s formation. He recently helped her get ready for her first Reconciliation, and he was planning a party to celebrate the sacrament of Caroline’s First Holy Communion in the Spring. “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” John 14:1-4

Patrick loved life. He was a cheerleader to anyone who needed a smile. If he knew someone needed work, he would be on the lookout, continually sending job postings, suggestions, or words of hope. Pat had a huge heart for others in need. Patrick also had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, nurturing them at an early age and then staying connected with them as they grew. Pat absolutely loved his kitties too (and most recently Caroline’s guinea pigs Delores and Julietta.) Patrick was comfortable in his own skin which made him so easy to love just the way he was. From the time he was small, creating paper cartoon figures for hours on end in his room to reenacting the Muppet shows – to growing up at his parent’s second home in Hermann, MO as he roamed the fields and tried not to get kicked by Dick the Bull – it was a pure gift to see Pat grow into the man he was today. He was creating a strong path for his family, all the while, knowing there are challenges. He recognized life and people are not perfect. Patrick had the grace to move on from small and even big things because of his love of God and family. His goodness knew no bounds. Within his big personality, he was a great protector, strong and mighty. Paddy was also a puddle at times. He could tear up when others were sad or even at super happy news. Patrick’s booming laugh was infectious! He will be remembered for his sense of humor and creative prank jokes (especially on his Dad.) His family will continue to retell these stories for years to come. “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Psalm 17:22

We miss, cherish, pray, and remember our precious Paddy with heartfelt and overwhelming love and devotion. Patrick is survived by his loving wife Nicole “Nikki” Marie Prindiville (nee Ellis); his daughter Caroline Prindiville, the late Patrick Matthew Prindiville Jr.; forever cherished by his parents, Gary J. Prindiville Sr. and Linda Prindiville (nee Branham); sister Cindy Fochtmann (nee Prindiville); Jerry; sister Kelly Pingleton (nee Prindiville) Rich; brother Gary J. Prindiville Jr., sister-in-law, Terri; Michele Gramelspacher (nee Prindiville) Tony; Shannon Prindiville as well as Patrick’s caring and devoted in-laws, Sterling Ellis III and Cathy (nee Limes) and sister-in-law Megan (nee Ellis) and Jason Hasselbrock. Patrick will forever be loved and remembered as a responsible, fun-loving, devoted, and compassionate uncle, nephew, cousin, godfather, friend, neighbor, and colleague to many.

There are no words to express the intense gratitude received from family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, clergy, the police/fire department, funeral staff, co-workers, and parish staff who have supported our family with love and guidance during this time of planning and grief. You are appreciated and loved. “Christ beside me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me. The Lord is greater than all: I have said enough.” -Saint Patrick

Patrick, our Son

I remember knowing before Patrick was born what a character he would be. He was busy, fun, and so kind-hearted. I watched with pride as he grew and overcome any obstacles in his path. He worked extra hard in elementary school to get his grades up so he could earn a bumper sticker that read “Proud Parent of an Honor Roll Student”. He made sure he followed in his sister’s footsteps and earned his degree in business from Mizzou. When he married Nikki and later became a father, he was over the moon with joy. It’s no wonder that his pride and joy was his family. Caroline was the apple of his eye. Our heartstrings to him will never be broken. He takes with him all the love of our family and his. We will always remember Patrick joyfully for his heart, humor and uniqueness that is unrepeatable. We are grateful that he and Nikki gave us Caroline. She is a tangible connection to Patrick and shares so many of his traits. Patrick gave us so many memories, so many stories to tell. We will Always love you, Patrick, and look forward to seeing you in heaven with your son, Baby Paddy, sitting on your knee. Love, Mom and Dad

You are alive in her smile!

While we no longer feel your touch or hear your mighty laugh sweet Paddy, God gave us such a precious reminder of you in Caroline. Holding her hand, hugging her, listening to her detailed descriptions and her giggle brighten any room. You are right there! Thank you for never leaving. You watch her in the gentle breeze. You guide through so many who return your love to her and always will. Loving you every day, never forgetting, reminding of your memory, your humor, your goodness. With all my love, Kelly

To my husband....

You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I know I was the same for you. We changed each others worlds for the better. You are my best friend. You know how to make me laugh and even tried to pull one over me but never did. You got me caught up in your tricks you tried to play on your dad. And I even helped in a few. You were and will alway be my #1 BFF. My ride or die. We were supposed to together until the end of our days but I’m glad I was yours until your last moments on Earth. You will always be mine. I will always and forever be your “trophy wife”. Iykyk. You changed my life for the better and I hope I did for you. I love you forever and to the moon and back. I even love you more than bacon! I was blessed to have you as my husband, father of my children, and most of all my best friend. As always, love you to the moon and back! Now to the heavens and back, Your Wife
