Debbie Gillies Obituary

Debbie Vicky Littlefield Gillies

Beaver, Utah

After a valiant fight with gastric cancer our sweet, mother, daughter, wife, sister, and friend has moved on from this life to a place where she is now free from the suffering and pain of this world. Debbie Vicky Littlefield Gillies (47) passed away at her home in Beaver, UT surrounded by her family on September 1, 2013.

Mom was born on September 16, 1965 to Richard and Sandra Dawn Larson Littlefield. The adoration her parents had for her would lay the foundation for an unbreakable bond of love and devotion that would span her lifetime. Growing up in Beaver Mom couldn't help but fall in love with her little town and began to build her life there the moment she was given the chance. Mom worked various jobs throughout her life, her favorites being owning her own manicures shop, "Nail Mania", working alongside her two brothers at her brother Shane's ATV shop, and most recently she was her daughter Jaycie's right hand gal, running a very profitable hog farm in Milford, UT. However, anyone that knew Mom soon learned that there was only one job she had spent her childhood dreaming of having, and that was to become a mother. That dream would come true for Mom with the birth of her four children which her life revolved around, Jaycie (28), Colten (27), Brody (24), and Laini (14). Not being afraid of a little hard work Mom plunged head first into being a mom, and she wasn't just any mom, to us she was the very best mom in the entire world.

Always an impeccable home maker, Mom found joy in meticulously cleaning and organizing her and anyone else's home. She was a pro at this. Leave her with an unorganized mess and you'd come back to an organized system the military would be envious of She had a list for every activity, a place for everything, and everything belonged in its place. Mom would drop everything that she was doing to help anyone with any task at hand.

On June 5, 2010 Mom married Blake B. Gillies in Manderfield, UT. Together she made sure that their family always came first. For this reason Mom especially enjoyed holidays spend being surrounded by those she loved, not to mention they gave her an excuse to redecorate the entire house. Don't have a calendar? No problem, just drive past Mom's house, the decor will surely fill you in as to the time of the year. Mom also took great pride in her yard, spending countless hours creating a flower garden that was worthy of a magazine.

Mom's big beautiful blue eyes, infectious smile, and joyful laugh could brighten anyone's day. Simply put Mom was amazing, she had a deep love for others and couldn't help but befriend anyone she encountered. Mom was adored by her children as much as she adored them. Together they faced her illness head on, and never looked back. Mom exhausted every option and treatment that they would offer her, and even at her last breathe would have taken more, had she be given the chance, she never gave up. While cancer may have stolen our Mom from us for now, we all rest easy knowing that this isn't our good-bye, this is just the end of this chapter, and we will have many more left to write together when we are reunited again. So long for now mom, what we lacked in quantity you made up for in quality. We love you to the moon and back.

Mom is survived by her parents, husband Blake Gillies. Her children Jaycie Yardley, Colten Yardley (Braydon Bird), Brady Yardley, and Laini Davis. Step children Cody (April) Gillies, Travis Gillies, Crystal (Dallon) Bradshaw, Colt (Tanya) Gillies, and Jessica Gillies. 8 step grandchildren, and 1 great grandson. Her brothers Shane (Janet) Littlefield, and Rusty (Erica) Littlefield.

Mom was deeply moved by the efforts of the community that she loved so much put forth in an effort to help her battle against this awful disease, and wanted to express a heart-felt thank you to all those that came to her aid.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Beaver Stake Center (1380 E. 200 N. Beaver, UT). A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm.. Friday evening at the same address, and from 11:00-12:30 Saturday morning prior to services. Interment in the Mountain View Cemetery, Beaver UT, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
