Life story

Thank you for visiting one of the resting places of Timothy Smith. Our son was cremated August 2022 after his sudden passing. To say that we miss him is such an understatement. We think of him every day and would give our world to God if He would grant us another day with Tim. When you visit this resting place or remember him; say a prayer to let him know you thought of him, heard a song that reminds you of him or had a beautiful memory of him.

The following is his obituary something parents should never have to write.

Timothy R Smith, 35, of Concord, CA passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.

Tim is survived by his parents, Richard D Smith, Jr of Manteca, CA and Tammy J Metrovich (Michael) of Stockton, CA, brothers Travis Metrovich, Union City and Mark Metrovich, Santa Barbara and sister, Megan Metrovich, Los Angeles, grandmother Laura Smith, Manteca, CA and Beverly Brown (Bill) Gadsden, AL. Tim is also survived by aunts and uncles, Lohrie Smith Pardue (Robert), Susan Smith, Mary Ellen Zidich, Brian Eubanks, Leonard Eubanks, Peitra Wivell, Louis Rivara, and Michael Zidich. His cousins Cyndi Zidich, Jon Zidich, Peter Zidich, Alison Zidich, Steven Stone, Leslie Lowe, Kenneth Pardue, Alicia Wivell-Walton (Moe), Jack Wivell and Jon Wivell. He will be forever missed by his true love, Kasey Maureen Coffey.

He was preceded in death by grandfather, Leonard Timothy Eubanks, grandfather Richard D Smith, grandparents, John and Patricia Metrovich and great aunt, Endis Litchfield.

Tim had an intense love of music. He was in several small-town bands where he played guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, and of course vocals. He spent many hours writing songs, recording vocals and playing any instrument he could get his hands on including the ukulele, drums, acoustic guitar, bass guitar and kalimba.

An avid Oakland Raider and Athletics fan, Tim loved spending time with his family attending games and cheering on his teams; win or lose. He was known for his “whistle” when his team scored a touchdown. He was a fun-loving soul with a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of gold. He enjoyed nature with Kasey at his favorite Lake Tahoe and Yosemite spots.

Hawaii

Our family went to Hawaii twice with Tim. The first trip was taken in October to celebrate mine and Tim's birthdays (9/29 and 10/1). We are 21 years and 2 days apart so our birthdays were always celebrated together. We had been celebrating together since Tim was born. Hawaii was one of the best times that we celebrated together. Tim was happy, seemed to be at peace and was taking in the beauty of Oahu as well as girls he saw. We both got tattoos together. Mine on the back of my neck and his on his left arm. The sign of the Libra which we shared as our zodiac sign. We discussed how the libra sign represented our lives; always trying to balance life. We just never seemed to be able to "balance". It was either one side heavier than the other. I believe that Tim is now balanced. He is in heaven where peace and tranquility are his life. At one with himself and with God. No pain. No frustration. No anger. No self-doubt. No faults. Just the perfect life and being. I took this picture of him on our last morning in Hawaii. We shared coffee and he smoked a cigarette and stated that he hoped when he got back home that "things would change" for him. This picture is how I see Tim now. At peace and waiting for us to join him in time in heaven. I miss you every day. I will never not miss you until I am with you. I loved you first, Mom!
