Life story

Carol Leonard, an incredible woman, had an impact on so many of our lives in some way. As an only child with not the best up-bringing or easiest life, had the knack of bringing family and friends together for good times. Loved nothing more than offering her home for good food and entertainment. She truly was the life of the party, knew how to make people laugh with her great sense of humor. Her cackle alone was infectious. In one word to describe her, FUN! She also had a sensitive side to her, she would be the person you go to for advice or a good cry.

Carol was Superwoman in her children’s eyes. She was strong-minded, loving, caring, nurturing and comforting. Her children were her pride and joy. She and dad made sure they gave us the best life they possibly could even when times were tough. We never took anything for granted. Christmas Day was always filled with tons of gifts. It was important to have family together for dinner always. She was a great cook and we all miss her home cooked meals. Sons and granddaughter still love to cook her dishes.

The love Mom had for Dad stood the test of time. For good or bad, she was always there. She and Dad, together, were quite comical. She got a kick out of embarrassing him in public (“Oh Carol”). Reminiscing about Mom with Dad fills us with laughter. Mom would be so happy knowing dad is healthy and keeping the home in tip top condition. She would also love how well he takes care of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nothing meant more to Carol than family. She made sure the family knew the importance of sticking together. Looking down, I know she’s proud the family stays tightly knit.

Mom, we all miss you terribly, and wish you were still with us. As the family keeps growing, know that family traditions and memories of you will live on. Thank you Mom for the wonderful life you gave each of your children, for the love, support and fun loving memories you gave all of us. ❤️ 🌹

It’s truly crazy to me that you have not been here with us in 12 years. I still hear the sound of your laugh, feel your hugs and tickles and see the smile in your eyes whenever it came to your children and grandchildren. I think we have a lot to thank you for! You’ve created such a foundation in our family and traditions that continue to live on through us all. You would be very proud of grandpa newly known as Opa Yeehaw … your house still looks the same every Christmas! Decorated with the puzzles you put together, and the bathroom towels, decor and soap scents change with the seasons. The only thing no one has perfected yet is your pot roast…. Even tho they all try very very hard, I don’t know if it will ever be the same ;) I know that you’re always looking over us, and I’m sure you have something to do with the 4 beautiful great grandchildren you have here now! Grandpa has admitted that he’s given more bottles at his age now than he has in his whole life, lol. I know you would also be so proud of the grandfather your son has become! Not that there was ever any doubt but Dad is truly the most wonderful grandfather any kid could ever have and that’s all learned from you and grandpa. I wish you were here to experience all that is going on here, you were truly taken too soon. I know you would be proud of everyone and where life has taken them. You are always in our hearts, your memory continues to live on and there’s no doubt that the world is a lot more quiet with out you in it. Until we meet again! I love you 🤍
