Elizabeth "Lizz" Herro - Dowdy

On July 30, 2012 this world suffered a tragic loss in the blink of an eye, so many lives were changed forever. A wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend full of life, energy, joy, love and promise along with her three children were delivered into the waiting arms of God.

Elizabeth Anne Herro Dowdy of Salado, her two sons Fischer Phillip and Benjamin Samuel Dowdy were killed in a car accident July 30, 2012 on Highway 95 north of Elgin, Texas.

Elizabeth Anne Herro Dowdy was born February 27, 1987, Fischer Phillip Dowdy born October 1, 2008 and Benjamin Samuel born April 15, 2010. Elizabeth and her husband Samuel Dowdy, Jr. were expecting their third child, Hayes William in January 2013.

They are survived by husband and father Samuel Dowdy Jr., Julie and John Diem of Georgetown, (Elizabeth's mother and step father), Jeffrey and Lisa Herro of Lexington(Elizabeth's father and step mother), paternal grandparents Sam and Rhonda Dowdy of Lexington. They are also survived by Jennifer Herro of Round Rock (Elizabeth's sister and aunt to the boys),Lauren Dowdy and husband Daniel,(Lauren is the sister of Elizabeth and aunt to the boys and Daniel is uncle to the boys)and their daughter Ava Dowdy niece and cousin. Amanda Dowdy of Lexington aunt to the boys. Great grandparents Helen and Mike Murphy of Bastrop and great great grandmother Erna Patschke of Fidor.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her grandfather, C. E.(Grif) Griffin and Michelle Dowdy.

Visitation and Service was held August 2, 2012 at Salado United Methodist Church. A short grave side service followed at Salado cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to United Methodist Church/Dowdy memorial. Donations can also be made to the Methodist children's Home in Waco, Texas
