Life story

Bradley William Taylor was born February 12th, 1994, to Bill and Allison Taylor in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the oldest of 4 children- Brian (Kelly), Luke, and Abby.

Brad’s enthusiastic efforts towards the things and people he loved was unmatched. His appetite for life, and food, was great. He chased both until no leftovers remained. Anything Brad didn’t love and wasn’t enthusiastic about was bluntly left behind with no apologies, no regrets. He was a strong character with firm beliefs and was loved dearly for it.

From a young age, Brad was a jokester. His comedy was a driving force in his adolescence and in forging strong relationships with friends and family. There was always a laugh to be had, and many stories will live on about his funny antics throughout the years.

Sports were always a centerpiece in his life- both as a spectator and participant. Brad was an NFL fanatic and proud organizer of the annual fantasy football league. He played lacrosse for Bountiful High School where he was the offensive MVP and team captain.

Once Brad began working, he quickly fell in love with growing his hat collection and added to it regularly throughout adulthood. After high school, Brad served an LDS mission in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Brad married Marisa Hyland Taylor on February 17, 2017. They have two beautiful daughters- Frankie (2) and Georgia (2 months). His gift with children came naturally, and he was a wonderful father and husband. He shined as a girl dad and spared no energy making life full for his family.

Brad went on to join the US Army National Guard where he worked in communications and served in Morocco with his unit. Shortly after, he earned his associate’s degree from Salt Lake Community College.

In 2020, Brad attended the police academy and was serving at the time of his passing as a K9 officer for the Sandy City Police Department. He formed a brotherhood with his colleagues and K9 partner, Trigg. The work suited him, and he was admired for his grit and commitment to protect and serve the Sandy City community. He loved letting all the kids check out his police car and sound the sirens.

Brad’s life was filled with meaningful moments alongside his wife, daughters, family, and friends. His mark is permanent and will never be forgotten.

My Best Friend

I always knew that Brad wore a lot of hats (literally and figuratively), but through countless stories, I have learned just how well he wore each one. Brad was a wonderful son and brother. He checked in on his family. He made sure we were apart of their lives and wanted his kids to learn very specific things from them. As a husband, Brad was my perfect match. He helped me learn how to get out of my comfort zone. He taught me how to think deeply and how to fully enjoy life instead of fear it. He was kind, fun, and everything I needed. Watching him put on the hat of father made me love him even more. We didn’t hesitate to put best girl dad on his headstone because it’s accurate. Brad loved his daughters with his whole soul. He played hard with them, sang all the Disney songs to them, and would take them on the best dates. The roles of a soldier and a police officer were short but like everything in his life, he put his whole heart into them. When Brad became a police officer, he found a home. He felt proud to put on that uniform and get to spend time with his friends making the world better. The joy on Brad’s face when he went to work made the risk of the job seem worth it. He was an athlete, a missionary, and a loyal friend. Even though Brad’s life ended way too soon, all of us in his life are better because of him. Brad loved hard, he played hard and he served hard. We love him and miss him.
