William Howard Waslufsky
“Your a smart fella not a fart smella”
Our father was a jack of all trades kind of man. Did whatever he could to make sure his kids had all the things that made us smile; an adventurous backyard full of toys he had refurbished or had built himself, and an open door to all other kids in the neighborhood so every day had felt like a party. He recorded everything, if the camera could have been sewn to his shoulder, it would have been. We have so many home videos I can't even explain how happy I am he converted them all to DVD so I didn't have to rent out a storage unit for the amount of VHS tapes it would have amounted to. Our father suffered from Bi Polar disorder, something was was just becoming known to the medical community in 1980 broken down into 4 different types for how complex it was. We still don’t know as much about mental illness as we wish we did, but it’s still very real and extremely difficult. He managed to be himself long enough to show who he really was inside; A selfless, giving person who just wanted to make people laugh and was likely the most ridiculously silly person many have ever met. I will always thank him for recording everything. I will slowly forget what the illness brought out and hopefully only remember who he truly was when it wasn't present. A loving father, a caring and patient person, my favorite comedian, and my reason to be the strong person he always meant to make all of his children. I know that now wherever he is, his illness did not follow him & he’s resting at peace alongside all our loved ones & watching over us making fun of & talkin sh*t I’m sure ❤️
