Kristopher's Life Story...
Kristopher Jordan Minners was born June 2nd, 2000, in Tallahassee, Florida. He was the second son born to Keith Selby and Rebecca Minners. Kristopher was educated in Philadelphia and Delaware. In Philadelphia, he started primary school at People for People Charter school then transferred to Girard College. From Girard College Kristopher attended Christiana H.S. in Newark, Delaware then transferred to Cheltenham H.S. in Cheltenham, PA., where he graduated on June 6, 2019. Kristopher accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in his life and attended church services occasionally.
Mentoring children was the job Kristopher held at this point in his life's journey. This was the pathway he knew would lead to one of his goals, which was becoming a teacher of early childhood education. Kristopher went full circle and landed his dream job mentoring children at his beloved Girard College. In his role, he helped to educate, lead, and encourage his 2nd and 6th grade students to live positive lives while obtaining a great education.
Kristopher was an avid reader and had other hobbies such as chess, basketball, and rehabbing homes. He also enjoyed traveling and playing video games. Kristopher had a wonderful understanding of economics and finance. He was well on his way to financial independence. He maintained his finances better than some people twice his age. Because of his sound financial decisions, anyone that knew him was assured that he was destined to become a great entrepreneur. A most recent treasured memory was when Kristopher received employee of the month just after 2 months of employment at Girard College. He took great pride in this accomplishment.
Preceding him in death was his beloved grandmother Rena Selby, uncles Tyrone Selby, Eric Selby, Michael Minners, and cousins Denzel Selby, and Jennifer Selby.
Kris as we affectionally called him, leaves to rejoice in his memory, mother Rebecca Minners, father Keith Selby; 3 brothers, Kevin Minners, Joshua Minners, and Kaden Selby. 2 sisters, Kaylah Selby, and Harlem Minners; a cousin, Marcus Selby who is truly like a brother; grandmother, Gwendolyn Minners, grandfather William Minners Jr.; aunts, Cynthia Johnson, Kimberly Miles, Marlena Selby, Darlena Selby, Rozlyn Selby, and Tami Fox; uncles, Carnell Selby, W. Dukes, Bryan Minners, William Minners, Dante Minners, William Johnson, and Andrew Minners; a host of cousins and friends, and his special friend Semaj Woodson to rejoice in his memory.
Today was a beautiful day. We layed under the willow tree with our blanket Semaj and I. It was hot. We brought you yellow roses, a request from your aunt Cynthia and Grandma. We reminisced about you and how much we miss you. We are all so sad. We love and miss you so much.
Jacqui HibbertWhat a beautiful way to honor your son. Looking at his pictures reminds me so much of my son Isaac 6/3/2002-4/24/2022. Thank you for sharing this with the world. You have encouraged me to honor my son in this manner. Praying that you be strengthened to run the race set before you. Sending hugs and love.
