Life story

On June 15, 1965, JOSÉ NOÉ GONZÁLEZ ARGUINZONI was born to Sandálio González Figueroa (deceased) and Maria Arguinzoni Rios (deceased) in Cidra, Puerto Rico. José, known to the family as Nenito, was lovingly raised by Teófilo Rodríguez and Ramonita González. José graduated from Luis Muñoz Iglesias High School in 1983 and joined the U.S. Army in 1984.

During his years in the Army, he was stationed at Ft. Carson, did a six-month training operation with the German Army, and was stationed for a year in Korea. José was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, National Defense service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal- 2nd Award, Driver 7& Mechanic Badge-W, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Marksmanship Badge, and Expert Badge. José was Honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.

José was employed at various companies after the Army but spent over 20 years at Transit Mix Concrete and the last four years at Martin Marietta as a Class A driver.

José married Angelica Benavidez in October 2000. They gained full custody of José Junior and later had their daughter Araceli Noelia. José had a big part in raising and influencing Angelica’s children, Antonyl Benavidez of Colorado Springs and Simon Benavidez of San Antonio, Texas.

José loved to watch boxing. He would purchase fights then go on Facebook afterwards leaving comments on boxing pages about the action. José enjoyed working on and cleaning his cars. Never had anyone paid such attention to detail about cleaning cars and making sure not a speck of oil or fluid was dropped from them. If he could keep his work truck as clean, he would have brought it home to clean, too. José loved to grill on Sundays and invite friends to eat. José enjoyed time with his family and friends. He was always ready to help anyone who called. José made friends everywhere he went or worked. He could recall people’s names and faces immediately when he ran into them years later. José was lovingly called Mr. Rogers by his wife because he knew everyone in every neighborhood where they lived…and all their business.

José dearly loves the siblings he grew up with: Rafael Rodríguez (Marileen), Kissimmee, Florida, Emma Rodríguez (José Soto) Cidra, PR, Millie Rodríguez Cidra, PR, Maritza Rodríguez (Arturo Rosa, deceased), Orlando, Florida, Rosemary Rodríguez (Juan Ramón Dávila) Dorado, PR, Pablo Rodríguez (Glendalee Roque) Cidra, PR, and Marinés Rodríguez (Damian Torres) Cayey, PR.
