Ronald Thomas Sunnenberg, "Ron", "Gramps" passed into eternal life surrounded by family on March 29, 2017. Ron was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 23, 1935. He loved his life, his family, friends, adopted state of Colorado, travel, sports, the Navy and dogs! Always a storyteller, the family will miss stories that began, "back in Adak…" and countless other humorous memories. His devilish sense of humor lives on in his family.
The last week of his life was filled with many wonderful events that sent him on his journey in peace. He had the opportunity to make a final Reconciliation, receive Anointing of the Sick, Last Rights and Communion even up to his last day. He connected with old friends and was constantly surrounded by the family he loved so much. While in Hospice, he even had his very first massage! Over the last week, he was blessed to get visits from three therapy dogs, two guitar players and an a cappella quartet. He enjoyed a hot fudge malt, a wee dram of Ardbeg, a little black licorice and many laughs and jokes.
