I LOVE AND MISS YOU DAD!

BORN FEBRUARY 5, 1893 My father was a very intelligent man, even though he was lacking much formal education. He was a jack of all trades. We lived in Fruitland Texas. He moved there in 1929 from Denver Colorado. He had a garage and was the mechanic fo Bowen Bus lines. later Trailway systems. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything. While in Denver he worked for the Phipps brother buying POLO ponies For the Cherry Creek Polo Club. He later moved to Borger Texas. It was in Borger that he met Martha Lee Barker and they go married. I was born in Borger and at about 3 years old we moved back to his house in Fruitland. My mother's parents lived there also. My father was 50 years old when I was born, my mother was 41. My father would take me with him everywhere, he was so proud of me. He would tell all his friends that I was his son; they would say Emmert you mean your grandson; he would say no this is my son. he was a hard-working, kind-hearted, and generous person. He was proud and when Ann and I were living in Denver in 1964, He would always prepare food and snacks for us to take in the car. he loved his mother, she lived in KY ad insisted that I write to her as he could not write or read. he is buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie Texas. My mother is buried in Westview Cemetery in Augusta GA. She moved there after my dada passed away to be close to her older son Elbert l Russell.. Thanks for everything DAD. I MISS YOU AND LOVE YOU. Your loving son, Oliver Emmert, Jr.
