Ryder Jameson Sturt
Some bonds cannot be broken. Your heart lives on within me. I carry your heart inside mine, I carry it on days when beauty unfolds in the most unexpected places, I carry it on days when I find courage to heal and grow. I carry it with me always. I know you are still with me, someday we will meet again.
Ryder was born in 1989 and raised in Petoskey, MI. He was the youngest, tallest, and most outspoken of 4 boys. He attended Blair Academy for high school and graduated from Pratt Institute of Art with a degree in film production. After a brief stay in NYC, he moved to Southern California where 2 of his 3 brothers lived. He became a master diver and dove all over the world, doing underwater photography. He made several trips to South Africa to work with the non profit group SAME building water filtration systems, planting trees and repairing/ building homes and structures that needed work. He took photos and videos while playing with the orphan and vulnerable children in the villages served, sharing his joy and love with them. He loved hunting for jade and gems, rocks and shells, and of course lobster. He loved his family, his great friends and his dog Lu. He left us far too soon. He left us the most beautiful memories of his humor, laughter, and kindness, adventures both good and crazy. He left us his love and philosophy of life, “we are all energy”. Thirty one years on this earth, my precious son, you will go on to be forever in our lives.
