Victor Tomas Hernandez
Where there’s unity there’s family
Victor Tomas Hernandez, departed on October 23, 2019 at the age of 29. Victor was born in the Bronx, NY on January 28, 1990. Victor was a proud father of two and a Nuyorican through and through.
Victor’s most important accomplishment was that of being a father. Not a soul who knew him could go without hearing about his daughter’s vibrant spirit and son’s intelligence. Pictures and videos of the two filled every one of his profiles. Aside from being a loving father, Victor was also a talented human being. In addition to being a full-time father, Victor held a full-time job, continued pursuing higher education, and still made time to nourish his creativity. There were few things he was unable to do with his hands. He was a self-taught videographer, artist, builder, and more. As a child, Victor would recite the words from his favorite mob movies with voices mimicking that of the actors. As a teenager, he taught himself to play piano, continued to sketch and paint, and excelled at every sport. As an adult, Victor’s creativity continued to shine in the videos and artwork he left behind. His family members continue to live within apartments he helped repair. Even years after Victor’s passing, the impact he has had on the life of those he knew continues.
Victor will forever be missed by his children (Serenity Faith Hernandez and Jaiden Victor Tomas Hernandez), mother of his children (Jaimily Hernandez), parents (Maria Hernandez and Tomas Hernandez), younger sister (Melissa Hernandez), grandpa (Victor Manuel Torres), Aunts and Uncles (Ana Victoria Martinez, Victor Martinez, Mariella Torres), primos-hermanos (Ashley Victoria Martinez, Lauren Santana, Victor Matthew Martinez, and Valerie Torres), best friends and brothers (Freddy Santana, Eli Dumois, baby Richie, and Juan Martinez), and his nieces and nephews (Ariana Santana, Timora Smith, Elijah Dumois, Isaac Santana, Mateo Martinez, and Elena Dumois).
He is joined in heaven by his maternal grandmother (Vidalia Hernandez), paternal grandparents (Maria Elba Milanez and Alcarido Hernandez), great grandparents (Jesus Hernandez and Conrada Hernandez), and his wife’s grandmother who he fondly referred to as abuela.
May we always remember these beautiful words when thinking of Victor, “Where there is unity, there is family.”
