Diogenes was a devoted father of seven and grandfather of three, the second eldest of four siblings, and a man who brought light wherever he went. Generous, outgoing, and full of life, he was known for his endless stories and his ability to make anyone feel like a friend.
Papi,
To me, you are so special. You are the best dad a child could ever dream of. Your love, your care, the way you would always call us and think of us.. it meant everything. You always had people in mind, even when they didn’t know it. You made sure everyone felt your presence in their lives.
To me, you were more than just a father… you were my friend. My road dog, my go-to. The one person I could trust with anything. We shared so many secrets, and our conversations were always so honest and real. That’s what I loved most about you! How real and authentic you were. No matter what life threw at you, you never let it change who you were inside.
Every time we got into it, you would remind me, “Why are you arguing with me? You know I would kill for you.”
And Pa… you know I would do the same. I will always be there for you too.
You were strong. You knew how to take accountability, take your time, and still hold your head high with respect and that’s why everyone respected you.
You are a legend… and legends never die.
As my father, your love and care showed up in everything you did helping me move, helping me with my car, being there anytime I needed you. You never made me feel alone. You always helped me figure things out.
You are so special to me. The best dad, handsome as hell and with the best personality. The memories of us listening to music loud and you dropping me off at school… those are moments I will carry with me forever.
Thank you for your love. Thank you for everything you gave to me and our family. And most of all, thank you for being you… and always staying true to who you were.
I love you forever, Papi. 🤍
There are so many things I could say about my dad, but there aren’t enough words to explain how much love he had for everyone in his life. He was caring, trusting, and taken far too soon.
I still find myself thinking about every missed call and unanswered text, wishing I had one more chance. There are so many moments ahead where I know I’ll need him. I just wish he could be here to be proud of me.
One thing about my dad is he never let his love go unnoticed. He didn’t have much to give, but he always made sure we felt loved, and that meant everything. With so many important people in his life, his kids, grandkids, parents, siblings, nieces, nephew, and even friends, you would think that kind of love might fade, but his never did. Never once did I doubt that the love he had for me was anything less than what I was shown unconditionally. Even when he couldn’t always be there, he made sure we knew he loved us all.
I don’t know how to live a life that you’re not a part of but I do know that no matter what I want you to be proud of me wherever you may be.
Te llevo en mi corazón, papi. siempre será tu princesita 🤍
My dad was pure love.
That’s the only way I know how to describe him. He loved me in a way that was so deep, so constant, so real… that I didn’t even realize how rare it was until now.
He was obsessed with me, and I was 10 times more obsessed with him. I was his baby, and he made sure I felt that every single day. The way he spoke to me, the way he showed up for me… those are the kinds of words and love people spend their whole lives hoping to find. And I got that from my dad.
He used to call me his accountant because I was always on him, always watching, always making sure he was good. I didn’t want him with just anyone, I wanted someone who would take care of him the way he deserved, like the king he was. Because to me, he wasn’t just my dad… he was everything.
When I was little, I couldn’t even stand to see him leave. I would cry, and he’d have to sneak out just so I wouldn’t get upset. That’s how much I loved him. That’s how much I needed him.
And now… I’m trying to understand how to live in a world without that kind of love physically here anymore. It doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t feel fair. Because a love like that… you don’t just explain it, you had to experience it.
What we had was once in a lifetime.
And I will carry that love with me forever.
I love you papi so much❤️
