Life story
Eric Miguel Gonzalez, Born on November 22,1999, in Edenton, North Carolina and was the son of Patty Lenau and Rafael Gonzalez. Eric was also a brother to Caitlyn Gonzalez, grandson, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend to many. Eric has a contagious laugh and smile that would light up a room. His smile would melt all of your worries away. He loves to travel and make new memories, play soccer and tennis, fish, and spend time with loved ones. In his off time, he would love to ask others to make him chocolate milk(because they made it the best). Eric was truly the greatest love in all of our lives. Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean I will miss you until we meet again. We love you Eric.

How has it been a year?
It's been 365 days of living in this horrible nightmare that we can't seem to awake from!Your death changed me. This grief-has changed-me: The pain, sadness and rage has changed me. The trauma and the shock changed me. I am no longer who I once was. As the days go by, complex layers of grief continually come alive. The cruel reality is that in order to keep carrying this, to keep functioning, there is a constant learning curve. There is no "normal" normal left with you. Each day is a different day, not sure of what or how I will feel. I will not ever dare say goodbye to you Eric, so what I will say is see you soon.... always remember that I will love you longer than forever, my sweet Erc & even longer than that 🤍 🩵
