Blossom Reynelda Parsons
Ayeeee… 😂
Blossom Reynelda (Riley) Parsons was born on August 26, 1957 and passed peacefully and surrounded by family in her childhood home on August 31, 2023. She was born in Bishop California to Frances Fimbres and Glen Roy Riley Sr. She was described as a goofy, fun and free spirit.
She loved to recall, as a child, running through the open fields in the neighborhood sliding under the fences and hurling over creeks on her way to see her grandmother Mabel. In her late teens and into her 20’s she enjoyed playing softball, running track, traveling and hanging out with friends and her many cousins. We’ve heard so many funny recounts of her adventures and her ability to get lost just crossing the street. Blossom attended many various trade schools before she met and married her first husband at the age of 29, Edward L Parsons Jr., whom she was married to for 14 years. She raised three daughters and also a few grandchildren along the way. She spent many countless hours with her children, her pets and the livestock she acquired throughout the years. You could always find her in the bleachers watching the kids’s sports games while eating sunflower seeds, helping to take care of the animals for 4-H, attending pow wows and traveling around the state for various rodeos.
In her mid 40’s she worked at our local tribal casino while attending Cerro Coso Community College to get her nursing certificate. She met Michael Jones Sr., they were married in January 2006 enjoying the next 17 years. She then began working at the Care Center in 2003 until she retired. After that she took it slow and easy. She filled her days gardening, shopping, visiting with family, scrolling Facebook, baking with her grandkids and most of all, she loved playing her favorite machines at numerous casinos. You could always find her there drinking her coffee and chatting with anyone that walked by.
Blossom was preceded in death by her grandmother Mabel Fimbres, grandfather Ynacio Fimbres Sr, sister Sabrina Riley, brother Ron Riley, aunts Amelia Cyrus, Dorthy Richards and Melinda Ridley and uncle Ygnacio Fimbres Jr. Blossom is survived by her husband Michael Jones Sr., her mother Francisca Fimbres, father Glen Riley Sr., brothers Clayton Fimbres and Glen Riley Jr., sisters Kim Sepsey, Rosella Stone, Marcita Fimbres and Jaqueline Riley. Daughters Autumn Thomas, Lacey Stanley and Whitney Parsons. Grandchildren Isaiah and Austin Thomas, Ciara Parsons, Mark Hall III, Genessee Eddy and Sophia, Hanna and Gunner Stanley. Her aunt Kathleen Delgado, uncle Bob Fimbres and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Blossom was the rock of our family, always making sure we were taken care of and she was there to help whenever she could. Our mother was loved and is missed by each of us beyond measure. As per her request, there was no service and she had a private burial at the Sunland Indian Cemetery. She always wanted people to remember her as she was, strongly devoted to her family and resilient. We thank everyone who has helped us through this difficult time, offered a kind word or shared funny story.
