Bobby wall

Dakota had her birthday party the other day. She chose butterflies as her theme because she wanted you to be there. She has had your picture on her wall since the day she brought the picture of you home from your funeral. I printed out the picture of you and her to add to her Bobby wall. Butterflies have become THE connection to you for the girls but even more so for Dakota. Every time she sees anything butterfly related she speaks about you. “Hi Bobby” 🦋 “I miss you Bobby” You would be so proud of the little girl Dakota has become.

A year ago today

Since you’ve been gone. Your grandson. He was born 2 days after you got your wings. He looks just like you. His name is Tobias. No middle name, in honor of you. Emilia, well, she still has that fire like your mom had. How is your mom btw? Cora will randomly bring up memories about you. Makes me happy she remembers you but sad at the same time. Dakota, she talks about you all the time. We cry together, smile and reminisce. I asked her what she misses most about you. She said your back scratches. You would always scratch her back before she fell asleep when she spent the night. Your son, Still the hard working man you knew. I think even more so now though. He aches for you. I can see, feel his pain. I would do anything to take it away for him. Me, I’m ok. I miss so much about you. Our talks or simply sitting with you while you worked in the shop or watching you on your tractor. I miss all the board games we used to play. Going out on the weekends to garage sales. Playing disc golf. The way the girls eyes lit up whenever they saw you. We switched houses like you wanted. Been 4 months and honestly, it feels so empty here. Everything is a reminder about you. It hurts. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year already. Things just aren’t the same since you’ve been gone. And I don’t think it will ever get any easier. You are and forever will be someone that is irreplaceable.

I don’t know why it happened. No reason could suffice. But those who’ve served their purpose are called to paradise. To us it seems so senseless. But God,He had a plan. We’ll never understand it. For that’s the curse of Man. It’s faith we must hold onto. That’s how our spirits grow. And even though we miss you, we’ve got to let you go. You’ll always be here with us. No matter where we roam. So cherished and remembered. Within our hearts your home. I know you’d want us to be happy. To live, laugh and love. We will never forget you. Please forever be our guardian angel from above. Proudly we speak your name and sweetly reminisce. Always sharing the stories of your life. You will forever be the best Geezer of my life.
