Charleigh Ann Gordon
Stopped by to visit grandma! Charleigh’s first time here. She’s 6months old already! And yesterday would have been your 50th wedding anniversary! We miss you and love you!!!
Margy graduated from Rockford East High in 1969, and from Swedish-American Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1973. After graduating she worked at River Bluff Nursing Home and the former Highview Retirement Home, and as an office nurse for Dr. Bryan McDonald at Rockford Health Physicians. She continued her nursing education, becoming a nurse preceptor, before retiring in 2011.
Margy met the love of her life, E. Charles "Charlie" Sarver, Jr., and they were married at Court Street United Methodist Church on September 28, 1974. They celebrated their forty-seventh wedding anniversary this past September.
Margy and Charlie had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed entertaining and dining out, road trips to southern Indiana to visit family and friends, and trips to Amish country for quilts and furniture.
Margy was a wonderful cook, taking great pleasure in hosting holiday dinners with some of her traditional Swedish dishes. She would spend weeks baking Christmas cookies and made gifts of cookie tins to so many friends. Margy was a longtime supporter and member of Friends of Lockwood Park, and Roscoe Chapter 641, Order of the Eastern Star. She was consistently generous with her time and talent.
