Michelle Mateo Tolentino
"A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it. It just blooms." - Zen Shinh
As many of you know, Michelle was a daughter, sister, auntie/godmother, cousin and friend. She was born and proudly raised in San Francisco, but spent the last 7 years in Casper, WY. She is survived by her father and mother, Rogelio & Milagros Tolentino, and her four siblings: Maria Angela Lu, Gina Thomas, Mark Tolentino and Marybelle Tolentino.
Like many Filipino families, Michelle grew up with a great number of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was always known as the over-protective, yet extremely selfless, often loud, super caring, independent one. Whenever she would visit home, she would always require two things: 1) boba and 2) more importantly, to spend time with each of her loved ones. It never mattered to her how near or how far she would have to go, or how much time she would have to spend, as she'd always find a way to see the people that mattered the most to her. The love she has poured into others over the course of her life is immeasurable.
As many of you may know already, unfortunately our sweet Michelle tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the young age of 29. Despite the cards stacking against her time and time again, she fought until the very end. On December 1, 2020, we had to say our goodbyes to one of the brightest lights we've come to know, as she made the brave decision to follow the light of our Savior.
Michelle, although a void has forever been imprinted in our hearts the day you left, your beautiful life will always be celebrated by us here on earth. Thank you for touching all of the hearts you've come across in this lifetime. Although your life was short-lived, the memories and impact you've made will be carried on forever. May your soul rest peacefully, and may we continue to live our lives in honor of you.
We love you and miss you every day.
