Ollous Dean Daggett
A simple man who on paper did nothing extraordinary, but oh how he left an extraordinary imprint on everyone’s life.
You knew him as Dean, Dean O, brother, husband, friend and papa. I was lucky to be the only one to get to call him Dad. He taught me how to fish, hunt mushrooms and the correct way to wear a stocking hat, & most importantly how to listen. I mean really listen because if you weren’t giving him your full attention you’d miss half of what he was saying.
I will never understand why it was his time, but I know his mom and dad saw his suffering and knew they could ease his pain.
I was careless with my time, I thought he’d live forever with all that good clean livin he did. Even though I was not given enough time with him I am so extremely grateful for the time I did get.
At his visitation I heard over and over how he was loved and people couldn’t remember a time in their lives without Dean Daggett, I heard how he was a great man with a kind heart, how he took his time to get the job done right, how he took the time to teach the young kids what to do. I heard that this sucks, I heard laughter and I heard tears.
Nothing will take away this pain but the memories will help.
