Life story

Kenny Bedford was born on January 29th, 1958, in Kingsport TN and always found a way to bring out the best in everyone. Those who had the pleasure of being in his presence were always in for a good hearty laugh. Kenny passed away on July 15th, 2022 at the age of 64 after a long and courageous battle. Kenny was a free spirit who lived his life to the fullest. Most importantly, he was a loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather, son (favorite son-in-law), brother, uncle, cousin, and friend that will be remembered forever and always in their hearts.

Kenny is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Cari (Smo) of 44 years, children Jesse (Leyla) and Jami (Johann). His grandchildren Jayden, Gabi and Sadie will all strive to honor his memory by living their lives as their Papaw would want. Can’t forget about his precious service dog Belle Erina Bedford. He is preceded in death by his brother Steve, his parents Ed and Inez and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who lovingly welcomed him home with open arms and a cold Budweiser.

A devoted and dedicated PWC county employee who retired after 31 plus years. Most knew him as the master of antics. Kenny always coordinated all of the best pranks at work, which have become legendary and unforgettable stories. “PLUMBING LOOKS GOOD!”

KB was an avid Harley rider where he and Cari made special memories that will be cherished forever. They attended bike weeks and rallies across the country for many years. In addition, he would cruise the streets in his truck known as the Dale City 500 circuit. Often seen riding around checking on his family and scoping out buildings and structures while contemplating code violations. Kenny especially loved annual family vacations and anniversary trips to Ocean City, MD. A very fond and favorite destination where countless memories were made. A tradition his family will continue to uphold in his honor.

A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you. Cheers to you Kenny, the most loving, kind, funny, authentic, and incredible man we have ever known. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your story. You will be deeply missed by all but we will honor your legacy.

“Keep on keeping on!”

Missing you Dad

I love and miss you so much!!! I never wanted to imagine a world without you in it - and yet here we are. I would give anything to hear your voice, your laugh, one of your jokes that I've heard 1,000 times, see your smile light up a room, have one more dance... the list goes on and on. My heart is missing a huge piece with you gone. Keep looking over us all until we meet again! Forever and ALWAYS... Love, Your Jamo "We have the same features, different fixtures!"
