Antonio Corchado - Sr.
"Mi canto es mi alabanza para mi Dios, grande y poderoso."
Antonio was born in Isabela, Puerto Rico.
After completing his education, he went on to become a butcher and continued his career as such until 3 years before his passing.
On December 9, 1978, while still in Puerto Rico, Antonio married Maria B. Sanchez. The couple remained lovingly married until Antonio's last days.
In November of 1993, wanting a better life for his family, Antonio moved his family from Puerto Rico to Utica, NY.
He gave his family a very good life.
A man devoted to God, Antonio was in the Pentecostal church, having been baptized in the waters of Jesus in 1995 in the church of Cristo Misionera by Antonia Sanchez. His beliefs and his love of the church and its teaching were the cornerstone for his many wonderful days here on earth. One of his favorite ways to praise and give glory to God was by the gift of song. He loved to sing for God.
A man with a happy and forgiving soul, Antonio shared his humor often by telling jokes, he always had many jokes at the ready!
Antonio enjoyed watching and, at one point, playing baseball. He loved the sport and rooted particularly for the New York Mets.
Antonio also enjoyed other sports such as basketball, and rooted for the New York Knicks.
Antonio is survived by his beloved wife, Maria; and his children and their spouses, Antonio Jr. and Stephanie Corchado, and Yesenia and Juan L. Rivera. He will live on in the hearts of his grandchildren, Adalina, and Allyana Corchado; and Juan Jr. “Junior,” and Jamil Rivera.
An amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and, overall, human.
Antonio left a loving and positive everlasting legacy in the hearts of so many.
It is the reason why he is sorely missed everyday and the reason why our love for him will forever remain.
