Kenneth A. Starkey Jr

Kenneth A. Starkey Jr was born to Ken Starkey Sr and Betty Starkey. He was a loving dad to me and my two brothers Jalen and Justin. A doting “pop” to his granddaughter Chanel. Ken-Ken was a beloved son, father, grandfather, grandson, cousin, nephew and friend amongst all those who cherished him. Although he was an only child, he was fortunate enough to cultivate a deep brotherhood with his close friends and cousins. A gem in the eyes of many, he affected a lot of people in countless ways and the result of his impact will be in our hearts forever.

My father’s charisma and sense of humor were signature characteristics that stood out upon meeting him. His infectious laughter and wit were always on display and a source of continued joy whenever I reflect on fond memories. My dad had a huge passion for both food and sports. There are so many memories tied to the smells, tastes and occasions where food was central. His love for sports created moments of bonding, he would tell me about all the great players he grew up watching and all the championships the Lakers and Giants won. His fandom is the gift that keeps on giving and remains a tether to his contagious spirit every time I watch a game.
