Thomas “Tommy” Robert Stackhouse
If our children are our future, then why are we not fighting harder to find cures for them?
Tommy Stackhouse was a 2021 graduate of Bangor High School. He was diagnosed in 2019 with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and sadly passed away May 26,2022. TeamTommy Inc was established to keep Tommy’s legacy alive by helping pediatric cancer families in the Slate Belt. Just like our community helped us, we are committed to giving back. Tommy was known as the Ultimate Slater. There was nothing he couldn’t accomplish! He started out at Bangor High School with an IEP because of his Epilepsy. Due to his Epilepsy, he couldn’t participate in sports so he became the high school Varsity football manager for 3 years. He was the Homecoming King. He graduated in 2021 and needed more rounds of chemo but talked his oncology team into giving him an extra week at home to ride every roller coaster at Dorney with his friend Emma and go to 6 graduation parties first. He completed his first college course over the summer and found his calling in Special Education at Northampton Community College. His first and only year of college, he made the Dean’s List, was induced into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and received early acceptance to Drexel University. His passion was to help Teens with Disabilities.
