Gillian Whelan

If you are reading this bio, you knew my Mother.
I can tell you she was one of three siblings born to loving parents, Jimmy and Joan Whelan.
That she attended primary school in Ballyduff N.S, just a stones throw from where her name lies on a headstone.
She attended not one but two secondary schools and bought single cigarettes after school from the corner shop with her friends.
She spent her early twenties living on the island of Mallorca with her eldest daughter (me).
Mum turned her hand to anything, from hairdressing, farming, painting and pottery to cheffing. She was the friend you would call if you wanted to talk about the latest Netflix series or if you needed a tree cut down, there was no in-between.
