Robert Lee Downs
Robert Lee Downs of Cameron, MO passed away May 22nd, 2021 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. Robert was born on July 6th, 1988 the son of Steven Downs and Lori Johnson in Smithville, MO. He was a 2007 graduate of Polo High School, where he excelled in athletics and FFA. He was active in track, football and wrestling. Robert was the wrestling team captain and was a member of the State Champion Track Team. He received the State FFA Degree and was Vice-President of the Polo FFA Chapter. Currently, Robert was a laborer for PBI Gordon Chemical in Kansas City, KS. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and anything outdoors. Robert was a free spirit and was the life of the party. He could always make you laugh. He loved his children and spending time with family and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and grandmother, Linda Johnson. Survivors include his significant other, Abby Lightfield of Cameron; mother, Lori Johnson (Gene LaMarr) of Polo; step-father, Charlie Dorsom of Cameron; children, Kolten and Baylie of Cameron; sister, Sam Downs of Cameron; grandfather, Lyndall Johnson of Cameron; niece, Lakelyn of Cameron; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family members and many, many friends survive.
