In loving memory of Laurie
Laurie Elizabeth Walton
God saw you getting tired A cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you And whispered, “ Come with Me” With tearful eyes we watched you And saw you fade away, Although we loved you dearly We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating Your tender hands at rest, God took you home to prove to us He only takes the best.
Laurie Walton was an inspiration to many in Athens/ Morgan counties, and probably many other surrounding counties. She was always willing to volunteer to help with anyone who needed it. She was a member of the Trimble High School hall of fame committee, the Trimble Textbook Foundation, former treasurer of Trimble Athletic Boosters, head of Trimble’s Jr. High class prom committee, TTYL, treasurer of Glouster Church of Christ and owner of KAL Electric Inc. Laurie enjoyed church, photography, motorcycle races, and spending time with her children & grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as “Maw Maw”. Laurie fought ALS for four years before losing her fight on December 21st, 2015. Her love for the Trimble Community was shown thru her many volunteer organizations she participated in. Her home and kitchen were always open to everyone & her greatest pleasure was helping anyone in need. She had a strong faith in god & cared for everyone.
