Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma Wong taught me not to be afraid of the neighbors’ dogs. She taught me not to shuffle my feet when I walked. She introduced me to watercress for the first time. Grandpa was a stern man. He did occasionally smile.

My grandma and grandpa

For my fifth grade present grandma wong sent me and my brother along with my mom to Disneyland! It is probably the greatest memory of my childhood and it’s all thanks to her! Grandma also taught me how to hold a rice bowl properly and to this day I always want rice in a rice bowl at the Chinese restaurant! My other favorite memory of her is all the rocks she collected and placed along side her stair case leading up to her front porch. And now some of those rocks are sitting on my front porch! Grandpa wong was a great man - I always heard stories of him being a mean guy to his kids but he was a teddy bear and I loved him! I wish we had more time with them both!
