Joshua
Losing you is still so hard to accept. So painful. I go to bed with sadness and when I awake it's still there, and I know it's because you aren’t here. I now know personally what it means that when you love deeply, you grieve deeply, that extraordinary grief is an expression of extraordinary love. Why didn’t you tell us? I wish I could’ve saved you, and helped you become the man I know you could have become. All the cudda beens and shoulda beens don’t bring you back, though. You were one of the greatest gifts of my life. It was an honor to watch you grow, laugh at your silliness, and love you for the unique and special person you are. That will always stay with me. But this loss. If I could change this ending, I would do anything to have you here with us. The way you treated people is a lesson for all of us. You would text or call people you knew were having a hard time. You gave of yourself and gave whatever you had. Your heart was so big, and you made a difference! Your story isn’t over. This past year has been dealing with the emotion of losing you, but I am determined to keep your memory alive and work to make a difference in your honor. I love you, Joshua. So much it hurts.
