Christopher Todd Norman
"It is what it is."
Christopher Todd Norman, age 51 of Fortson, Ga, was born September 21, 1969 in Atlanta, Ga to Waistel Norman and Shirley Norman Alakamovitch. He passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2021 surrounded by his family and friends. Chris loved his family and friends and lived his life to the fullest. There was never a challenge or dare he wouldn't accept. He devoted his life to public service, first as serving as a paramedic for 25 years as well as protecting us for 18 years as a Senior Trooper with Georgia State Patrol. He was always humble about his service and any praise he received. He is survived by his wife, Karen Norman, children, Stephen Norman, Lucas Higgenbotham and Derek Higgenbotham. His mother, Shirley Alakamovitch (Jon), sister, Tonya McLemore (John), step-brother, Michael Alakamovitch (Courtney), nieces, Brooke Trevathan (Brian), Bailey McLemore, nephews, John McLemore II, Wyatt and Will Alakamovitch and great-nephews, Whit and Walt Trevathan. He was a Diddy to Josh Crim and Schley Culpepper and he adored his G-babies Jamison Crim and Merritt Crim. He loved his many friends who he felt were more like brothers. That was never more evident than in his final days as they gathered around to love, laugh, and sneak him Natty Light. His Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, June 21 at 3pm at Cascade Hills Church with internment to follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The service will be officiated by John McLemore with music performed by Kurt Thomas and Bailey McLemore. Pallbearers Stephen Norman, Lucas Higgenbotham, Derek Higgenbotham, Josh Crim, Doug Martin and Sven Armbrust. Honor guard provided by the Georgia State Patrol. Memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks at autismspeaks.org
