Jesus Gonzalez
The water’s good here
Born May 15th 1992 in South El Monte , California to his mother Maria Valenzuela and father Jose Gonzalez. He was the younger brother to Chantel and older brother to Socorro.
Jesus was raised in Covina where he attended cypress elementary, las palmas middle school and graduated from north view high in the summer of 2010. Growing up Jesus got his nickname “bubu” from his sister Chantel. Bubu spent his weekends alongside his dad , working on cars or at the junkyard. Sunday mornings were reserved for church at st Luis of France in La puente followed by a hearty breakfast at Chris’s. He played a few seasons of high school football. Early in life Jesus found his passion , cars. Repairing , watching or driving any car always put a contagious smile on bubu. His best friend ,Freddie Kyle , and him opened redline in 2013 and Jesus fell in love with running the shop, some say a little too much. He Had many Christmas parties and always enjoyed lunch somewhere with his shop neighbors and customers. In 2014 Jesus , Eddie and Jason created Redline truck club. They all shared the love for trucks, burnouts and the love of having a great time. Although Jesus’s life was short , his 30 years of life were lived to the fullest. He looked forward to the annual Sema trip with Mario and the guys, thanksgiving week at Glamis with his primo Joe Vega, or the occasional trip to Zacatecas with his dad. No matter the time of year he never wasted time and was always doing something. His evenings were usually spent alongside Reyna at whatever foodie spot they happen to be craving, this is where he became a water connoisseur, and would let us know if “the water is good here”. Jesus touched the hearts of many people. He always made people feel welcomed and loved. He was always ready to lend a hand or whatever you needed. Everyday he is missed and he will not be forgotten.
We love you bubu.
