Life story

Our big brother Billy Nimmo died in an accident just before his 6th birthday. Our mum was pregnant with Yvonne. Billy named us. He wanted the baby to be called either Yvonne or Graeme after his friends at school. We never met Billy but we carry his legacy with us.

Our parents, Ella and Sandy, were cremated but we planted the roses in their memory and scattered their ashes around Billy. They also lost another wee boy, Gordon, who was still born. He is buried in the Eastern Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Our parents were married for almost 67 years. They left behind 2 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters, Ellie and Alice. They sadly never got to meet Sid, their first great grandson.
