Charlotte Kay Tennant
“I’ll send you butterflies when I pass away”🦋
Charlotte was born March 25, 1951. Her parents were Ella and Charles Murray. Growing up with 11 siblings in Sabraton, she became a mother figure to them after her mom Ella passed away when she was 16. Her love and dedication knew no bounds as she cooked meals and cared for her family.
Although her dream of becoming a teacher was put on hold, Charlotte's passion for crafts led her to save up for years and open her own craft store, Charlotte's Gift and Variety Barn. With a love for ceramics, crocheting, and painting, she created beautiful works of art.
Charlotte's vibrant personality extended to her wardrobe, where she proudly owned everything in her favorite color: purple! She found joy in singing hymns, watching game shows, and collecting angels. And let's not forget her signature drink: Diet Coke with ice!
In her later years, Charlotte embraced technology, using her iPad to stay connected with her family "up on the hill." She cherished watching Raymond (her brother)and Peg (sister in law) sing songs together and found comfort in the virtual world.
Known for her cheery disposition, kindness, and sense of humor, Charlotte made everyone around her laugh and feel loved. Her daughters, grandkids, and great-grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she never missed an opportunity to let them know how much she adored them. She loved being “mammy”. ❤️
Her bond with her husband, Gary, was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Married for 51 years, they relished simple pleasures like going out to eat, watching their favorite shows together, sitting on the porch, and sharing meals filled with laughter and stories.
Charlotte's legacy is one of love, resilience, and a commitment to making life better for her family.
