Charlotte slipped peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, surrounded by family on Sunday, February 5, 2023. She was born in Livonia, Michigan, on March 7, 1940, to the late R.S. and Edith (Davis) Spotts. Charlotte grew up in Hudson and Osseo, Michigan, then married and raised her family in Bay City, where she continued to reside for over 60 years. Her faith was strong, and she had a close personal relationship with her friend, Jesus.
She is survived by sisters, Cynthia Roth and Shirley (Bernel) Carpenter, and her children, Marc (Donna) Anspaugh, Michael (Diane) Anspaugh, and Marla (Don) Blackmond.
Charlotte cherished her grandchildren, Brad (Sara) Beeckman, Scott (Becca) Beeckman, Bridgette (Kent) Schultz, Brittany (Matt) Novak, Aaron (Jordan) Anspaugh, Spencer Blackmond and Olivia Blackmond, and eight great-grandchildren. She was a special loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She also appreciated the kind support of Robert (Patricia) Anspaugh.
Charlotte whole-heartedly served others and consistently placed others ahead of herself, which is something she learned from her mother and father. She carried this ethic into her professional life at the Kawkawlin branch of Chemical Bank, where she was known and appreciated for her personal care and exceptional customer service.
Charlotte liked to visit Lighthouses and hunt for Petoskey stones with her family along the shores of Lake Michigan. She also loved to vacation at Gregory Beach in Dowagiac with her grandchildren. She traveled to many military bases in the states and Korea to visit Marc's family. She had a clever and sometimes "catch you off-guard" sense of humor, which she inherited from her father. She also inherited from her mother a special gift for making pies and delicious down-home meals. She was an avid Spartan fan and loved animals. She enjoyed feeding cardinals and mourning doves, and traveling with her Cocker Spaniel, Suzy. Charlotte faithfully served her church families by playing the piano, leading Sunday School classes, and caring for children.
