Doris Lee Costin
I love you to the moon and back
Doris, affectionately known as Shug, never met a stranger she didn’t treat like a friend. Her life was a testament to kindness, as evidenced by her welcoming presence everywhere she went, especially her favorite spots at local restaurants where she was always greeted with open arms. Doris relished her waffle house breakfasts, sharing laughter and stories, her treat every time, much to the playful chagrin of those she dined with.
The echoes of her love reach far, touching everyone who knew her, especially when they engage in the simple pleasures she loved—watching her favorite North Carolina sports teams, sipping Bahama Mamas, or cooking her famous collard greens recipe.
As the sunlight casts the perfect glow in the sky, it’s as if Doris is letting us know she loves and misses us too. Her spirit, an epitome of divine love, ensures that those who knew her keep her memory alive through the love they pass on to the next generations.
Doris Costin’s story is not just about the life she led, but about the countless lives she touched. May she rest in paradise, and be at peace, forever remembered and forever missed. Love you, Shug.
