Jacob James Casey
Your smile will stay etched in our memories forever.
Jacob was bon at the Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas. He was the poster child of a good kid, his infectious laugh and spirit has touched many lives in his short time here on earth and will continue to touch those who love him. He never met a stranger and his love for life emerged from his teasing, fun loving, kind and caring ways. Jacob's signature in life was his contagious smile. He was a talented athlete and his small stature made a huge presence on the field. Jacob was a 2007 graduate of Trinity Catholic High School. After graduation Jacob went on to play for Coach Bell at Jacksonville University until a neck injury outside of football ended his career. He moved back to Ocala and was attending CFCC. He is survived by his father Brian J. Casey of Ocala; mother and stepfather Pam and Kem Smith; Sister Kailey Smith; brother Jarred Smith; Grandparents J. J. and Patti Casey of Tallahassee; and Jim and Joyce Kelly of Avon Park; Great Grandmother Kathleen Lee of Ocala; Aunts and Uncles; Tammy and Lee Anderson and their 2 boys Levi and Logan; and Dennis and Debbie Kelly. His funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, with a seating capacity of 1000 people. There was standing room only with several people still outside. A Scholarship Fund in his name was established shortly after his death to provide assistance to graduating seniors who needed financial help to further their education.
