Larry "Slick" Mena was born December 30, 1987 the year the Lakers beat the Celtics. He was proudly from Compton California Os. The eldest of 8 children and a father figure to his siblings, As they would describe him as the anchor of the family. Larry's love for the Lakers made him name his two sons after Laker legends. Jayson Kobe and Lorenzo Magic.
His larger than life personality made people love him so much. He enjoyed riding in the desert with his boys along with cooking, one thing about Larry he loved to cook and most importantly eat. Bringing everyone together was something he truly loved. Larry was a big sports guy a huge Lakers, Raiders, Angels, and America fan. Loved anime and marvel. He bonded with everyone through sports and food. And truly loved everyone's company.
His pride and joy were his two sons Jayson Kobe and Lorenzo Magic. Taking them to see every new movie that came out was their thing, soccer games became an iconic thing for Larry and his sons. Tailgating and seeing the games live filled all their hearts with joy. A very present dad who loved his boys and always made it happen for them.
Larry was the true definition of resilience despite any obstacle he always remained strong and full of life. His big smile lit up the room and most importantly always showed that his heart was as big as he was.
He will be greatly missed by everyone and always remembered in their hearts.
