My one true love
In line at the buffet, a casual Tuesday afternoon, A voice cut through the chatter like a sudden, perfect tune. "Nice pistol," she said softly, with a warmth that stole the air, I turned to find a brilliant smile, and a beauty past compare. That February day in 2000 changed my world forevermore, The finest grace and deepest joy stepped right through the door. She made me the happiest, the hippest man alive, And gave me two beautiful children, for whom we love and strive. She became my entire life, my anchor and my guide, A love that keeps on burning with a fierce and steady pride. Though she has gone ahead of me, her spirit guides my way, I love her still, I love her deep, each and every day. Until the day the angels call and lift me up above, I'll hold our children close to me, and cherish all her love. For I know she waits in heaven, with that smile so bright and free, And until I see her face again, she lives inside of me.
