Portrait of Lucy Metallo
In Loving Memory of

Lucy Metallo

July 31, 1972 – February 4, 2022
Lived 49 years
Mississauga, Ontario
It broke our hearts lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God took you home. If tears could build a stairway, and heartaches make a lane, we’d walk our way to heaven, and bring you back again. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still, in our hearts you hold a place, no one could ever fill.
Life story

Lucy touched the hearts of everyone she encountered with her kindness, generosity and welcoming nature. She was the second born of 4 sisters. Like all siblings, we argued & we fought, but as we grew up our bond grew stronger.

Lucy didn’t have children of her own but her nieces and nephews were her children. They were always so excited when Zia Lu walked through the door of every visit or family gathering. She was full of life, feisty at times (especially when it came to defending her nieces and nephews; she had a soft spot for them) and downright fun. Her wisdom and advice were invaluable to the older ones and their conversations are forever missed. Their Zia Lu knew just what to say to make everything better. Most importantly Lucy had eternal love for them and was proud to tell anyone who would listen. Proudly posting every milestone and birthday on Facebook.

While she loved her nieces and nephews she also loved her fur baby Bowser and she was the best fur mama to him. She would dress him up in cute outfits for every occasion.

Lucy loved to travel and loved the beach and much of her 20’s and 30’s were spent travelling somewhere hot by the ocean. Though, some of our best childhood memories were made at the cottage in Sauble Beach, where she would be in the water until sunset.

Lucy will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness, sincerity and loyalty.
