Life story

MaKayla was born and raised in Greenfield, IN to the parents of Marc Jones and Dianna Sexton. Her father Marc passed away in 2000 when MaKayla was only two months old. Her mother Dianna and husband Jason raised her along with her two brothers Trevor and Hunter.

MaKayla was a beautiful soul from birth until her passing. Her heart was special. She cared for others from a very young age. In preschool she worked alongside disabled children in a group called Typical Peers. At age 8, she knew she was going to work with kids and the elderly. She went on to junior high and high school continuing her buddy programs and working with disabled children.

She was friends with everyone she came in contact. A beautiful smile, a warm and loving heart, and always possessed positive energy. She touched everyone she met.

After high school she moved to Bloomington, IN where she continued school to gain her CNA license. She then moved to Ocala, Florida where she gained her LPN license and was recognized in all 50 states. After that, she moved back to Bloomington, IN and started her RN.

She worked at clinics, hospitals, and even did in home healthcare nursing. She also worked in a school and babysat. She was always busy. She had recently been inducted into a sorority to work with cancer patients. Her heart was huge.

She found out on September 21, 2023 that she was diagnosed with Leukemia. Did this stop her? No! She continued to love on others, spread joy and and just be herself. She stayed positive as she underwent treatment.

After approximately three and half months she was taken by a massive brain hemorrhage. God needed her more than we did.

MaKaylas light continues to shine from above.
