Pamela Eileen Schaffer
Given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it... live it...and never give it back. Stop sweating the small stuff. Don’t worry about who doesn’t like you, who has more, or who’s doing what. Instead, let’s cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. – Erma Bombeck, Pam’s Favorite Humorist
Pamela Eileen Schaeffer peacefully passed away on July 14, 2023 following a lengthy battle with illness. She was born in Oakland, California on January 27, 1944. She was raised in San Francisco during her formative years and attended Westmoor High School. Throughout her career in the service industry she showcased her remarkable talent for connecting with people on a profound level.
Pamela, affectionately known as Pam or Pammy, concluded her professional journey as the Director of the Meals on Wheels program at the Santa Rosa Senior Center where she devoted herself for an impressive number of years before embarking on a well-deserved retirement. Pam’s unwavering loyalty and deep love for her family and friends were evident in every facet of her life. She possessed a unique ability to extend her support quietly, always placing others’ needs above her own whether through acts of friendship, thoughtful gifts, or assisting with essential requirements all without seeking recognition.
Her passion for community was boundless and she cherished moments spent gathered around the kitchen table with loved ones sharing stories, cracking jokes, engaging in lively banter, and playing card games. Football, especially her beloved 49ers, held a special place in her heart. Pam exuded a presence that will be profoundly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Pam is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Bill Schaeffer, as well as her children, Sherri Marble, Linda McCrory (Paul McCrory) and Daniel Weising (Tennile Weising), and brother Steve Landi (Alma Landi). Additionally, she leaves behind a legacy through her five grandchildren: Alisa Heraldo (Stephen Heraldo), Jaclyn Widtfeldt, Nicole Widtfeldt, James Widtfeldt, and Beau Hicks along with a great-grandson named Isaiah Heraldo and her grandniece Angel Henderson (Chris Henderson), great-grandniece Savannah Henderson, and great-grandnephew Michael Henderson.
