Another Birthday in Heaven, another year of missing you
I miss you every single day, mom. xoxo
If you pray, why worry. If you worry, why pray. Milly Mom
She sure had her hands full.
Single mom, not by choice. One, two, three of us.
It wasn’t always pretty but she “showed up” every single day. The good, bad, and ugly….she was there.
She was “not our friend,” at least not back then. I would have lost the bet back then if anyone would have told me we would grow to be the best of friends. We did.
She was strict. She didn’t let us get away with anything; had eyes in the back of her head, seriously. She held us accountable and raised us to be able to stand on our own two feet.
I didn’t like it back then, didn’t get it. Thought she was mean.
Boy was I wrong; funny how the older I got the smarter she got.
I get it now, mom, I get it now.
In today’s world we need more moms like Sandy Dorer.
If you are lucky to still have your mom on this side “show up” for her like she always did for you.

Just one more time
On the eve of the day we celebrate the women that brought us into this world (and all other nurturers), a friendly reminder to celebrate them tomorrow and every day. If you are fortunate to have your mom on this side, do not take it - or her - for granted. Trust me on this. As you go about make sure your priorities are in check. There are no do-overs and there will come a day that you would give anything to talk to her just one more time. You should be here, mom. Not a day goes by…❤️🙏
Flip the page, another year without you
Flip the page and just like that, 2026. So many times this past year I’ve said, you were right, sure wish you were here for me to tell you that. I get it, age has a funny way of bringing things full circle. oh, and the buys spent Christmas together again this year and S even said it was a nice time. True Christmas miracle, really. Only person missing was you. I lit your candle; you are never far from my mind. Seems I miss you more and more as time goes by. xoxo
Beautiful lady, inside and out
Strong, even though she shouldn’t have had to have been; fighter, even though she shouldn’t have had to have been; beautiful, because she simply was.
As close as you can get to Heaven without going
❤️
Happy Birthday, Mom!
❤️
Ten long years later, wish that day wouldn’t have come so soon.
One day your momma won't call you anymore. One day you will wish she had lived more days to enjoy your time with her. One day she'll stop telling you to stop with your jokes. One day she'll stop giving you the advices she thinks is right for you. One day you will find the house where she was always waiting for you with a cup of hot coffee upon arrival, empty. One day her voice will no longer be heard. One day, only memories will remain. Time flies and waits for nothing and nobody. And on that day, you will feel a void so great that nothing and no one can fill!
Thinking of you today - and every day
Happy Memorial Day, mom. Jennifer added decorations today and Steve will put up your heart soon. Sure do miss you! #youshouldbehere
You would be so proud of her, mom
❤️
She would have given anything to stay
She would have given anything to stay; he couldn't wait to get away. She had no choice but to deal with it...all; he took off when it wasn't fun any more. She rarely went out because she was so busy taking care of three; he made sure to spend time with his friends seven days a week. She was surrounded by love and her kids; he wonders where all his friends went. As you go about make sure your priorities are in check. There are no do-overs.
Sums her up, my mom
Your climb was up hill from day one. You did not deserve any of them and they surly didn’t deserve you. And yet you survived, and then thrived despite them and their abuse. And then came the cancer, four effing times, and yet you looked it dead in the eye and said, bring on the chemo. You fought again and again with strength you developed during that up hill climb. And now you sit at the top of the hill, Heaven, my angel above. ❤️#notadaygesby
Kids for Kids
You would be so proud of her, mom. She raised over $2,200 (a goal of $2,000 she set herself which I thought was really high and would be challenging to reach) at RCE VC for St. Jude’s and Shriners’s Children’s Hospital. I sure wish you were here and hope you can see us from up there. Send a sign, ok.
I sure could use a sign
I sure could use a sign from you, mom. It often feels so cold and lonely down here without you She reminds me of you in so many ways. Do you see us? LC
Thought it was supposed to get easier
I thought time was supposed to help make things easier. It doesn't. I miss you, mom. I miss you! Love, Christy
By now
By now Jeri is with you, mom. I will miss her on this side as my fill-in mom but know she is happy and healthy with you now. ❤️❤️❤️
Nine long years…
Nine long years…. So much has changed since you’ve been gone, yet some things are the same. Odd, especially will everything going on in this jacked up world. I still find myself in disbelief, at times, that you are gone. Strange, I know, but then again I couldn’t believe that you passed away that day even though I had been with you in the hospital those three long months leading up. I was so focused on you getting better and coming home that it never crossed my mind you wouldn’t. Seriously. I thought if I believed it, you would believe it, and we could will it to happen. We sure did try. When you could no longer do one thing, I focused on what you could do, and on and on, and then I focused on the fact that you could still hear, never thinking about what would come next. I was truly shocked; sometimes still am even all these years later. If only love could have cured you… You should be here, Mom. There truly is not a day that goes by that I don’t think of you. You are now in God’s house but you will always be in my heart. ❤️
Eve of nine long years
There are certain things that happen in life, happy and sad, that you will always remember as if it were yesterday. On this eve of nine long years, I remember. Sure do miss you, Mom! 😢❤️ #youshouldbehere #notadaygoesby
Today, all those years ago
I know where you were all those years ago on Friday, August 13. Sure wish I could hear you sing that song one more time. Funny how time flies, yet stands still. You should be here not there. ❤️
Happy Birthday, Mom! ❤️
They call it a “smile” ad when you place a birthday wish in the Coldwater Daily Reporter. At first it felt odd to request it, something we’ve been doing for nine years now to celebrate her life. Now it seems appropriate, because we do smile when we think of her and tell Olyvia stories about her. They may have missed meeting in person by two months but Olyvia knows all about her, and as she gets older the stories will only get better (Steve and Brian were a handful growing up and I have a great memory 😀). So if you are reading the newspaper and see the “smile” ad of my two favorite people, I hope you smile too. Happy Birthday, Mom. I sure do miss you! ❤️ #notadaygoesby #youshouldbehere #jealousoftheangels
