Stephanie Nicole Bower VanHouten
“The mountains are calling and I must go” - John Muir
Stephanie was a young woman filled with life! She enjoyed hiking, spending time with family, social & competitive sports, education, and entertaining friends.
You could find Steph on the Dimond playing softball with her team every summer & fall, playing kickball or cornhole with her friends, or she would be making plans to go hiking either with the group or solo.
She loved her dogs, Bailey, Ziggy & Bucky. She loved her cat Petra so much and then after Petra left us we were blessed with a household of cats & kittens!
Stephanie was diagnosed with ALK+ lung cancer on September 11th of 2020. She battled as hard as she could through covid and sadly lost her fight on March 4th, 2022. She was always willing to help through her fight. She was willing to contribute anything to cancer study’s and research in hopes that it would help others in the future with their battle.
Stephanie loved education. She had received her batchlor degree from the University of Binghamton. She then continued her education, earning her Masters degree from SUNY New Paltz. Her studies include History & Archeology.
Stephanie was a founding cornerstone of two businesses that she started with her husband including Mad Clean Beer Lines & Cornhole Madness Events.
Her memory lives on with her family and friends that remember her daily and try to live as Steph did.
