Stetson Wyatt Rodgers
"Happiness is a choice"
December 5th 2002 a tiny 4 lb. 13 oz. baby boy was born to two loving parents. He was instantly loved beyond words. Although we knew instantly that there was something a little different about that tiny baby we still loved him unconditionally and couldn't get enough of him. After many doctors and testing, we later found out that he was born with a rare chromosome disorder called Trisomy 4p. At the time there were less than 100 documented cases of this disorder in the world. He was that extra special and rare, and over there years we learned just how extra special he truly was. There will never be anther quite like him.
After 2.5 years of enjoying Stetson, he became a big brother to Brooklyn. He took on this new roll amazingly. He was the most kind and caring and loving big brother. We discovered Brooklyn had the same rare disorder as Stetson, and that seemed to make their bond even stronger. So many people over the years mistook them for twins. They were two peas in a pod and inseparable.
Stetson had a love for mechanics and all things tools. He loved to be anywhere where he could take things apart and get greasy. He was always watching videos about mechanics and tools. His dad being a mechanic fueled this passion even more. Everything his dad worked on you could find Stetson right next to him asking questions and wanting to know all the workings of the job. Once he figured out how to write, he always would label all of the gauges and pedals in the vehicles. He owned just as many or more tools than an adult. He would spend any little bit of money he had on shop rags and WD-40. He once even named his 4H steer, WD-40.
Stetson was lucky to be included in many activities and school groups. He was the manager for the middle school football team two years in a row. He was on the bowling team and played on a golf league. Most of all he was very active in 4H. in 4H he showed legos, chickens and a steer. He was a part of the Teen Association and was able to travel with them on exchanges meeting many amazing people.
