Life story

Suki Choo Seipel was born in Seoul, Korea, on October 21, 1933, to Choo Hyung Sok and Kim Bok Soon. She met her future husband, Rudy Seipel, while working as a switchboard operator on the Army base in Korea, where he was serving. When his service ended he went home, then re-enlisted for three more years so he could return and marry her. They shared a love meant to last for time and all eternity.

Suki raised her children, Mike, Daniel, Tanya and Sandra, with love and devotion in Korea and in Sandy, Utah. She worked for Intermountain Health for almost 30 years in the Radiology Department. She enjoyed serving patients, and everyone she met at the hospital loved her.

Suki was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She spent almost 20 years in the church library and several years as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. She met two LDS prophets in her lifetime. She worked in the same hospital as Russell M. Nelson, and Thomas S. Monson headed the Church Printing Center where her husband worked.

Family, neighbors and friends always came first for Suki, especially around her traditional Korean cooking. She and Rudy loved to travel. They visited many countries and cruised on many ships, enjoying the beauty of the world. Suki is remembered as an extraordinary woman with a strong-willed, outgoing nature and a spunky, zestful spirit. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and animal mother. She leaves 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
