William Wayne Dean

William Dean, 74, of Summerville, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 12 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery.
William was born on November 27, 1947, in Charleston, SC, son of the late Joe Henry and Margie Lee Dean. After high school, William served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He was an avid bass fisherman. He was the founder of Carolina Bass Club. He enjoyed cooking, hunting and spending time with family.
He is survived by: daughter, Cheryl Dean Powell (Chance); special niece, Christie Gilbert (Lacey); four grandchildren: Layla Judy, Layne Powell, Gracy Powell, Kydence Powell; Great granddaughter, Leeanna Smith; brother, Joseph Dean; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Joe Henry and Margie Dean; daughter, Sonia Dean; five sisters, Shirley Clark, Gloria Ackerman, Marion Hilton, Joann Gray, Linda Barfield and one brother, Henry (Bucky) Dean.
