My fondest memories

I remember looking forward to getting home from school because I knew meme was going to have a slice of homemade bread with butter and homemade strawberry jelly waiting for me. Together we would sit and watch Oprah and then the news while I did my homework and she worked on her latest crotchet project. She was always ready to hear all of my stories from school. During the summertime we would sit in the living room and snap buckets of green beans so she could can them. She was the world’s best cook growing up, and every time we would try to remake her recipes it still never ended up tasting quite like hers lol. I loved listening to her stories about her childhood and growing up. I’ll cherish my memories of meme forever.

Making Memories with Meme

I remember waiting to catch the school bus at Papa and Meme's house. Meme would always offer us a piece of homemade bread with homemade strawberry jelly. Yum!! Every once in a while she would ask if we wanted a cup of coffee, too. My first taste of coffee! Meme helped me develop a love for cooking and canning! I would always ask for her recipes, ask what I was doing wrong when they didn't taste "just like Meme's", and ask for advice in recipes I wanted to try. She gave me her homemade ketchup recipe, and I will always remember her as I make it and give it to family to enjoy.
